Margaret Wakeford

Margaret studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music with George Rogers and accompaniment with John Streets, eventually acting as an official accompanist. After moving to Glasgow under the tutelage of Lawrence Glover, she gained a Scottish Arts Council Award to study with Gordon Green in London. Since then her musical career involved a number of years working for the BBC which included solo recitals, accompaniment, chamber music and orchestral pianist with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra; combined with this was an extended period on the keyboard staff at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and also at the City of Edinburgh Music School. Margaret is in regular demand as teacher, accompanist, lecture-recitalist and adjudicator.
