Tsvetelina Likova
Tsvetelina Likova is a UK based harpist with a wide range of creativity involved in her performances and compositions for the harp. Originally from Bulgaria, she has performed internationally from the United Arab Emirates, through Europe to the United Kingdom (where she is currently based) at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall and Town Hall in Birmingham, The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dubai, National Palace of Culture Sofia, Bulgaria Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall in Greece and many more. She has done numerous concerts as a soloist, chamber and orchestra performer with professional, semi-professional and youth orchestras such as Classic FM Sofia, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Russe Opera House, Birmingham Philharmonic, Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra, Dubai Chamber Orchestra, Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, and others.
Tsvetelina has specialised in the performing arts and was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Performance (Harp) from the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Tsvetelina is a prize winner of two International Competitions ‘Young Virtuosos’ from 2009 and 2011. Tsvetelina has also been financially supported throughout her studies by Bullock Fund, Endowment Fund, and Help Musician UK being awarded both Career Development Bursary and Transmission Fund. Her debut album of original compositions called ‘Tales by light‘ was released in May 2017.
Tsvetelina is now enjoying a diverse career as a teacher and performer in Edinburgh. She is currently working on a creative project as one of the three chosen harpists for the United Kingdom Harp Association Emerging Artists Scheme 2018. In addition to Saturday Music Classes in St. Mary‘s Music School in Edinburgh, Tsvetelina is teaching privately both pedal and Clarsach harps, piano and music theory.
