Support Us

Your support can make a world of difference to our talented young musicians.

St Mary’s Music School is the only specialist music school of its kind in Scotland and for over fifty years we have been nurturing, inspiring and empowering musically gifted children to be the musicians, composers, conductors and music teachers of tomorrow.

We offer a world-class standard of music and academic education to talented young musicians aged 9-19 years from Scotland and beyond, regardless of their financial circumstances.  To do this we rely on support from the Scottish Government’s Aided Places Scheme, parental contributions and philanthropic donations from individuals, trusts and foundations, and businesses.

Your Donation

We are hugely grateful to the School’s community of donors, supporters and Friends.  Your generosity enables the School to enrich the musical lives of our pupils and provide them with the best opportunities and experiences to develop their skills.  From masterclasses delivered by internationally renowned musicians to performances in the local community, from restringing violins to tuning pianos, from printing concert programmes to hiring venues, every donation makes a difference.

If you are interested in donating to a particular area of the School’s activity – please get in touch with Caroline Libberton, Development Manager, at clibberton@smms.uk or on 0131 538 7766 to discuss your support.

You might like to support the School’s Bursary Fund, which ensures we can welcome talented young musicians no matter their financial circumstances, or our Music Teaching Fund, which enables us to employ the very best musicians and teachers to nurture our pupils’ musical abilities, or perhaps give a donation towards our Instrument Fund, which allows the School to purchase musical instruments for pupils and keep on top of tuning our fleet of over 30 pianos.  You may also prefer to give an unrestricted gift, for the School to use where it is needed most.  To explore the many ways in which you can support the School please don’t hesitate to contact Caroline.
