Sundays 28 February - 21 March 2021, 2 – 5pm | Edinburgh
SCO String and Wind Academies are a partnership between St Mary's Music School and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. They continue in 2021 as a free opportunity for school-aged string and wind musicians who have achieved Grade 6 or above and who are able to commit to a series of sessions.
The String Academy is a string orchestra conducted by SCO Violinist Gordon Bragg and offers coaching to violin, viola, cello and double bass players. The Wind Academy, for smaller ensembles, is open to flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon and French horn players. The two courses will run simultaneously over a series of four Sunday afternoon sessions in the centre of Edinburgh. There are no auditions and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is no fee for String and Wind Academies and travel bursaries are available.
