Daisy Chute

Edinburgh-born, half-American, hyphen-loving Daisy Chute is a folk songstress and multi-instrumentalist who started her musical education as a chorister at St Mary’s Music School (2000-2002). Going on to study as a first study singer at the Purcell School of Music and King’s College London, Daisy moved to London as a teenager and was signed to Universal Records to be a founding member of classical-crossover vocal harmony group All Angels, releasing 3 platinum-selling albums and receiving 2 Classical Brit Award nominations. Now she is excited to be working on her début album of original folk songs with producer and songwriter Tim Baxter (Andy Burrows, Editors, Nick Mulvey). Represented by Talentbanq Live Agency, she regularly plays in the London music scene and U.K. festival circuit and has recently come back from a successful tour of America in the Autumn. Daisy is an award-winning singer and songwriter, with success in competitions from Scottish Music Centre to BBC Young Composer and most recently the Coffee Music Project singer-songwriter competition with her song ‘London’s on Fire’. Daisy has been lucky enough to be mentored by rock royalty Sir Ray Davies, featured as a vocalist on Radiohead's latest album A Moon Shaped Pool, and even got the thumbs up from Sir Paul McCartney after a performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Daisy is also a regular in the session world recording vocals and orchestrating for bands and Film, TV and Game soundtracks. Working with top orchestras in London (LMO, LCO, LSO) and at top studios (Abbey Road, Air, Angel), she has contributed to soundtracks such as Disobedience, Phantom Thread, The Ritual, Shaun the Sheep, The Sims, The Snowman and the Snowdog, Theeb, Even When I Fall, David Attenborough's Alive at the Natural History Museum and more.

One of Paul Sexton's 'top music tips' for 2018, Daisy's own music has been compared to Simon and Garfunkel and Joni Mitchell (BBC Radio Kent) and her voice has been described as “Exquisitely delicious. Delicate, like a gossamer-winged creature made out of spun gold." Tony Moore (Soho Radio, The Bedford)
