String Academy
Sunday 7th, 14th and 21st March, 2.00pm - 3.15pm
Open to school-age violin, viola, cello and double bass players
Our last online String Academy was such as success that we’re back! The String Academy is a free opportunity for you to work with expert Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) musicians and for this session we will be working on music by Saint-Georges, Joseph Bologne and W. A Mozart. The course is led by Gordon Bragg, Sub-Principle Second Violin, SCO.
Participants will also receive guidance from the SCO players on how to prepare orchestral excerpts for auditions.
Who can apply?
The SCO String Academy is open to school-aged double bass, cello, violin and viola players who have reached at least Grade 6 standard and who are able to commit to all sessions.
The final session will include a playthrough to which parents and friends are invited.
