John Kenny
John has performed and broadcast in over 50 nations. Internationally acclaimed for his interpretation of contemporary music, he also works extensively with improvisation and early music and is particularly active in collaborations with dance and theatre. He has received many prestigious commissions in the UK and abroad, including from international festivals in USA, France, Norway and Poland. John is also professor at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He has lectured and performed at many of the world’s leading institutions, including Juilliard and Mannes College New York, and the conservatoires of Paris, Angers, Angouleme, Bordeaux, Perpignan, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Moscow, Helsinki, Tromso, Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Stuttgart, Hanover, Sofia, Athens, Madrid, Seville, Porto, Tokyo and Osaka.
Since 1983 John has been musical director of Munich based TNT Theatre Company, and is also the first person to perform and record on the 2,000 year old Celtic warn horn, the Carnyx.
