John Bryden

Born in Edinburgh John was both a General Musician and a member of the Double Bass section of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain before being awarded an Exhibition to Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He studied with Peter Katin and in Master Classes with Guido Agosti in Siena and with Claudio Arrau in Bonn. He has greatly valued the advice of Sir Clifford Curzon and Hans Keller.

John has given concerts as soloist,accompanist and chamber musician from California to Kathmandu via The Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room playing also in the homes of Handel, Haydn, Beethoven, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Liszt and Grieg as part of tours he leads to many European Festivals. He has given organ recitals in Cathedrals, Churches and Royal Chapels. All this experience he delights in bringing to his teaching of students of every age!
