Call for Scores
Young people across Scotland (age10 - 18) are invited to compose a 3-minute fanfare for tenor horn, baritone horn, euphonium, trombone, bass trombone, and tuba.
The new fanfare should celebrate, or bring to attention some aspect of the composer’s local environment – a landmark, person or group that holds significance.
A free resource pack will be sent out to schools before October Half term which will include an application form.
Selection process and prize
One winning composer will have their work performed in the final concert by an ensemble of professional players
The winner and 4 runners will be invited to have their pieces workshopped.
All compositions that are shortlisted (up to 10) will receive written feedback.

How to enter:

Scores can be handwritten or created using music notation software such as Sibelius or MuseScore. There should be no mention of the composer on the score. The scores can be submitted via email, as pdf files, or sent by post to arrive no later than the deadline.

Deadline:
Score (in C) should reach us by Wednesday 20th December 2023 and, if shortlisted, parts should arrive by Friday 9th February 2024
