How to Be a Better Pianist - Part 1

Online

Thursday May 6th, 5.30pm to 6.20pm

Suitable for pianists age 10 to 18, Grade 7 and above and piano teachers.

In this demonstration session acclaimed pianist Helena Buckmayer explains the process of working with 12 year old pupil Michelle to show the techniques she uses to help Michelle improve her playing - in particular, how to focus on technical work and physical movements to convey musical expressions and the music encountered. Although the lesson focuses on Ravel's Sonatine, 3rd Movement, the techniques are applicable to any repertoire.

Helena is a teacher at St Mary's Music School. You can read more about her here.

The event will take place on WebinarJam. Places are free but registration is essential.
