Celebrity 6 Series

A unique opportunity to meet, and be inspired by internationally-renowned musicians from across the globe.

The Celebrity 6 Series is an exclusive programme that welcomes outstanding musicians for an hour of insight, music and conversation. On Friday afternoons, pupils across the whole school join together to meet a guest artist online, and since 2020 we have welcomed solo artists, orchestral and ensemble players, composers and conductors who each share their experience and expertise. Frequently a guest will hear our pupils play and provide invaluable feedback and advice.

Guests have included:

  • Angela Hewitt (piano)
  • Gautier Capuçon (cello)
  • Rachel Podger (violin)
  • Lorenza Borrani (violin)
  • Lorna McGhee (flute)
  • Malcolm Martineau (piano)
  • Sarah Willis (horn)
  • Tabea Zimmermann (viola)
  • Arve Henriksen (trumpet)
  • Steven Isserlis (cello)
  • Sir Antonio Pappano (conductor)
  • Alina Ibragimova (violin)
  • Tommy Smith (saxophone)
  • Judith Weir (composer)
  • Stephen Hough (piano)
  • Zoë Beyers (violin)
  • Susan Tomes (piano)

It was such an amazing experience to be able to ask Sir Antonio Pappano questions and hear his advice. The whole series though has been incredible and such a great opportunity to hear from musicians playing at this level. I always look forward to Fridays!
