Virtual Tour of St Mary's Music School

Meet Alexander as he takes you on a virtual tour of the School.

Join us for our Virtual Open Evening or Virtual Open Morning

Attending an Open Morning or Evening is a great way to find out more about becoming a pupil at St Mary's Music School and allows you to see and hear, first hand, the oportunities available to young people who have an outstanding musical talent.

  • Worried that a specialist music school might not be for you?
  • Not sure if you will fit in?
  • Concerned that a combined music and academic education will limit your future options?
  • Interested in learning how we provide financial support so that everyone can access this unique opportunity?
  • Not sure about boarding?

These are just some of the questions we cover at our Open events.

Open Evenings/Mornings give you the chance to see St Mary's Music School in action and to meet current pupils and staff.  You will hear from the Director of Music and our Headteacher Dr Taylor and some of our pupils will also be on hand too. You will hear about the academic curriculum and our outstanding results, our bespoke pre-conservatoire programme for S5 and above, the opportunities in chamber music and other ensembles and you will learn how music is completely interwoven into every day.  Of course there will be music from our pupils too and you will have the chance to ask any questions.  You can simply observe too if you prefer.

Whether you compose or sing, play bagpipes, saxophone, flute, bassoon, percussion or violin or more, join us to discover the benefits of being surrounded by other young musicians who love music as much as you do.

Our next Open Event

We do not currently have a date for our next open event but if you missed our Virtual Open Days and would like to receive a recording then please contact Fiona Duncan, fduncan@st-marys-music-school.co.uk

If you would like to visit the School in person please contact Admissions admissions@st-marys-music-school.co.uk

Congratulations to all who participated in the webinar - it was a wonderful presentation of a remarkable school.

..her mother and I really enjoyed the virtual Open Day this morning and we were impressed by the team's mastery of the new technology; the sincerity and commitment of all involved were apparent and impressively so and the school's distinctive ethos was palpable. Please convey our warm thanks to all, and especially to the students, who were brilliant. As with so many other experiences during the pandemic, we found this to be in many ways a more enlightening, economical and enjoyable Open Day than the traditional face to face versions.

Well done! Very informative and lovely to watch the pupils who clearly love the school they are in.
