Percussion Academy

Sunday 7th March, 14th March - 4pm - 5.15pm 

Open to school-age timpani, tuned percussion, other orchestral percussion players and drum kit players with orchestral experience. 

Our partnership with Scottish Chamber Orchestra is going from strength to strength and we are pleased that this year we are able to add an opportunity for young percussion players to join our Academy series. Work with SCO percussionist Louise Goodwin to explore practice techniques and get insights into what it is like to play in a chamber orchestra.

Who can apply?

The SCO Percussion Academy welcomes timpani, tuned percussion, and other orchestral percussion players who have reached at least Grade 5 standard. Drum kit players who have some experience playing in an orchestra are also encouraged to apply. 

If you do not have a percussion instrument at home then you can still join us for discussions and advice.
