For the sixth time our school has been awarded the Green Flag from Keep Scotland Beautiful.
The aims and objectives are as follows:-
- To ensure that everybody has access to quality green and other open spaces, irrespective of where they live.
- To ensure that these spaces are appropriately managed and meet the needs of the communities that they serve.
- To establish standards of good management, and to promote and share best practice amongst the green space sector.
- To recognise and reward the hard work of managers, staff and volunteers
For us it means we have a plan in place on a two year cycle, to ensure we stay green and keep improving. First the plan is looked over by their judges, judged against their criteria; we have check ins during the two years and at the end they look over what we have done, if we have reached our goals which can end in a green flag award.
